My Story
Growing up, I was always fascinated by stories, and was always found with a multitude of books in my possession. What I would read changed day to day, but I have always been fascinated by Medieval Fantasy and Military Sci-Fi. One of my favorite authors, Robert Jordan, inspired me to pursue a career in storytelling. I originally wanted to write stories and backgrounds for tabletop and video games, but decided almost on a whim that a career in Game Design would get my ideas out there so much better. To that end, I have devoted my time to learning the ways of World building and environmental storytelling.
Now, I am happy to bring worlds to life through these stories and look forward creating these amazing worlds. To accomplish this, I put myself through tuition at Full Sail University, focusing on their Game Design program. There, I made a good number of likeminded friends who pushed me to the limits of what I can do, and I learned new techniques in level and game design every day.
Now, I have a substantial understanding of what makes a good game, both environment and storyline, and I still continue to push the boundaries. I am not afraid to try new tactics, new ideas, and I am always looking to implement new strategies in my design, so I may better brand myself as a successful designer. I'm always looking and willing to learn, and use these projects as stepping stones to make more elaborate constructs.
Through my learning with Tony Munoz of Wulum Studio, I have continued to teach myself new tools of the trade, and his advice and council have been irreplaceable. Through his tutelage, I now have a grasp on marketing myself, and use social media to promote my work across platforms. While I am of course looking to join a studio to be a part of a team, I believe there is merit in also working on solo indie projects. To that extent, I am developing a new First Person survival game, code named Dark Fathom. This project is pushing the limits of what I can do as a designer, and everything I learn is being implemented.
I hope to share this and many more stories across the world on my journey to becoming a great game designer and team leader.
